Markskor Gallery of High Sierra Experiences and Art

Markskor, also known by his trail name of Ansel, is a longtime resident of Mammoth Lakes who's life is centered on engaging,  reflecting, and sharing experience in the Sierra Nevada.

Marc's reflections of Sierra Experience are multi-dimensional, including creating community and sharing knowledge, information, and wisdom through founding HST, High Sierra Topix, teaching Art, creating good social and community relationships, and creating Art.

I first came into contact with Ansel, one of Marc's trail names, while hiking from Lake Tahoe to Mount Whitney. Then again, hiking into Yosemite from Lake Tahoe. Ansel was quickly included in the Tuolumne Meadows trail guide pages once I started to collect up information to build the trail guide.

 Store, Post Office, and Grill.
Over the years I've seen Ansel expand his reach from a fixture in Tuolumne Meadows society into a member of the staff of the Tuolumne Meadows Store.

Support Tahoe to Whitney

The Tahoe to Whitney Trail Guide and Magazine are walked, written, funded, and supported by my efforts, with the help of kindred spirits and my sister.

We offer valuable Trail Guide, Skills, Weather, News and Analysis.

My goal is to get you out to see your natural and social potential. Help me keep this unique resource accessible and expanding towards its potential. We've a lot of miles to cover ahead...

If you feel these efforts are valuable, I'm cordially inviting you to support them, here:

I am currently working towards publishing the completed guide between Tahoe & Yosemite as an e-book, while converting this "blog" to a fine magazine format. You will like the results! Help Tahoe to Whitney reach its potential!
