Here's a couple of examples of very cheap homemade ultralight self-contained alcohol backpacking camp stove systems.

Below we have Aaron's excellent system seen in the Tuolumne Meadows Backpacker Camp during the Summer of 2009.

This stove kit was put together by Aaron, one of a crew of good backpacking dudes who hung out and shared camp 13 in the Tuolumne Meadows Backpacker Camp during the Summer of 2009.

I was about halfway between Lake Tahoe and Mount Whitney.

Note that his wind screen doubles as pan holder.

Earl's wind screen becomes a smaller cone to fint within the pot along with the stove for easy pack-ability.
