Mountain Safety Note

Thunderstorm Dangers

I've heard rumors that this unfortunate climber got caught out under a thunderstorm who's showers slicked the highly burnished rock marking the trail along the cables to the summit.

Granite can be reallly slick when wet, while wet burnished granite offers virtually no traction at all. Though a thunderstorm's most common threat is from its lightening, getting caught-out on slick rock doubles our potential troubles.
