Major 6.4 Fourth of July Earthquake Near PCT

2019-07-04 17:33:49 UTC, 10:33 PDT

Major Earthquake, Magnitude 6.4, occured 110 miles NE of LA, near Ridgecrest, in the Western Edge of the Mojave Desert, just to the East of the South End of the Sierra Nevada Mountain Range.

PCT hikers in the area, and crossing the South Sierra, felt this one! I would not be surprised if PCT hikers felt it from the Salton Sea up to Tuolumne Meadows.

ABC Approves of, Encourages Panic...

Powerful aftershocks shake Southern California after massive earthquake, fools say, 'You just panic.' ABC News, July 5, 2019.

Bottom Line

Panic will not improve any emergency situation, but will reduce your chances for healthy survival. Don't panic. Fear, when properly channeled, will supercharge your survival skills. Out of control fear will increase your danger, increase the threats to your friends and family, while increasing the risks to any potential rescuers.

Rule #1
Shit Always Happens
In case you were not aware, let me be the first to tell you: Shit always happens. Fires, floods, Earthquakes and Tidal Waves will happen. It is up to you to be an asset, rather than a liability, when the shit inevitably hits the fan.

Be cool, and don't be the fool, when things get hot.
