Man and Nature
June, 2019
Happenings in the relationship between Man and Nature affecting our hike down life's trail through both worlds. We study both the reality created by humans and the uncreated reality reflected in, and tended by Nature.
The vast majority of our reporting on Nature comes from the American Association of Scientists summarizations of each day's bounty of the peer-reviewed research published by academic institutions and journals around the world.
Our focus is on everything, every living thing and natural process that we will encounter hiking from Lake Tahoe to Mount Whitney, and out the Portal. The birds, the bees, the water, the trees, the granite in the ground under our feet, and the stars in the sky at night.
Our goal of tracking the status and trajectory of everything we encounter and engage as we hike through the Natural World then brings into play everything it takes to put and keep us out there, which covers a plethora of backpacker-related safety, health, fitness, gear, skills, observation, navigation, and, of course, weather and climate issues.
Finally, the most deciseive factor we track that predicts the current status and future trajectory of the health and well-being of Nature are the behaviors, science, culture, and arts of Mankind, who are both one of Nature's greatest and worse creations at the same time. We're going to try to make things better at the bottom-line.
We track the alingment of forces affecting the Nature of our hike through Life on this planet.
You will get the latest news from the forefronts of Climate, Bio, Astro, and the hard sciences affecting our engagement with Nature here, typically two days before hitting the corporate press, but a very long time after they've already deeply affected Man & Nature, if the grimness of our purposeful ecological collapse even comes across the pages of the corporate press at all.
You'll get the real deal here.
