MAIN POINTS
of the
Fourth National Climate Assessment

12 Summary Findings

The Bottom Line First
Science Fails to Identify Root Cause of Our Changing Climate and Weather:

Uncontrolled Domestic Population Expansion coupled with Unlimited Offshoring to Environmentally Filthy Slave-Labor Countries, meaning that our policies of unlimited domestic and foreign offshored growth are not even mentioned, let alone identified as the driving forces behind the global climate changes we've already experienced.

“Science,” identifies everything but the real root causes of our environmental destruction...

My conclusion?
We are so screwed... radical action is required to save what's remaining...not fake climate accords that preserve polluters and promote massive population expansions.

Summary Findings

1>Communities
The Irresponsible massive growth fed by legal and illegal immigration impoverished and degraded our communities long before the ecological impacts arrived, first causing, then compounding the problems initially initiated by this very same irresponsible growth.

2>Economy
Massive irresponsible growth supplemented by offshoring all of our premium manufacturing, moved the wealth of our nation into the pockets of our corporate overlords long before the economic impacts of their destruction of middle-class demand had already became apparent, long before the cascading effects of the climate degradation sparked by these irresponsible policies kicked-in.

3>Interconnected Impacts
The destructive primairy physical impact of our spreading footprint on the face of the Earth is now being multiplied and magnified by the secondary effects of the changes in the weather our destructive growth triggered.

4>Actions to Reduce Risks
Our leaders are dedicated to Keep On doing (unlimited domestic growth supercharged by offshoring all manufacturing to countries with little or no enviornmental law or regulation as possible), exactly the same behavior that they've been doing that directly led us into our current climate, cultural, and ecological disasters...which is the textbook definition of insanity...

5>Water
Effectively addressing the prime cause of increased CO2 requires reducing our population in California, by at least a third, back down to near a sustainable level to perpetuate our environmental resources, rather than consume them all in a frenzy of greed?

Our most effective environmental actions are to Deport LA...along with the three-quarters of the populations in The Valley and San Jose that are here illegally, to get this party started.

Water
(See Above) You have very deep social and political problems when your, "leaders," grow your population beyond your basic water supply, and that growth triggers greater environmental changes that further threaten our already overwhelmed water supply, while devastating the natural ecosystems and ecology dependent on these waters. That's what you get for letting your greed lead you around by your nose...

6>Health
"...the transmission of disease through insects and pests, food, and water increasingly threaten the health and well-being of the American people, particularly populations that are already vulnerable."

7>Indigenous Peoples
"...increasingly threatens Indigenous communities’ livelihoods, economies, health, and cultural identities by disrupting interconnected social, physical, and ecological systems."

8>Ecosystems and Ecosystem Services
"...transformative impacts on some ecosystems will occur; some coral reef and sea ice ecosystems are already experiencing such transformational changes."

9>Agriculture
"Rising temperatures, extreme heat, drought, wildfire on rangelands, and heavy downpours are expected to increasingly disrupt agricultural productivity...challenges to livestock health, declines in crop yields and quality, and changes in extreme events in the United States and abroad threaten rural livelihoods, sustainable food security, and price stability.

10>Infrastructure
(It's already trashed…)
"Our Nation’s aging and deteriorating infrastructure is further stressed by increases in heavy precipitation events, coastal flooding, heat, wildfires, and other extreme events, as well as changes to average precipitation and temperature."

11>Oceans & Coasts
"...many coastal regions will be transformed by the latter part of this century, with impacts affecting other regions and sectors."

12>Tourism and Recreation
"...benefits provided by our natural environment that will be degraded by the impacts of climate change in many ways."

They already are degraded...

Overview

INTRODUCTION
“Earth’s climate is now changing faster than at any point in the history of modern civilization, primarily as a result of human activities.”

"Americans," Respond to the Impacts of Climate Change:

Our political, "leaders," have added a hundred million consumers to our population over the last fifty years, and are continuing to stuff as many folks into areas of our country who’s climates are rapidly changing and water resources rapidly dissipating.

They, being our corporate leadership, and the forces of organized greed they represent, have grown us, our society and its ecosystems, to breakdown...

If you really want to address and fix our eco problem-crisis, then you have to demand the end the power of the forces of organized greed to control politics and policy.

Our Changing Climate: Observations, Causes, and Future Change
Everything is degrading...
"High temperature extremes, heavy precipitation events, high tide flooding events along the U.S. coastline, ocean acidification and warming, and forest fires in the western United States and Alaska are all projected to continue to increase, while land and sea ice cover, snowpack, and surface soil moisture are expected to continue to decline in the coming decades."

Climate Change in the United States: Current and Future Risks

"Many places are subject to more than one climate-related impact, such as extreme rainfall combined with coastal flooding, or drought coupled with extreme heat, wildfire, and flooding. The compounding effects of these impacts result in increased risks to people, infrastructure, and interconnected economic sectors."

Our Direction
The greatest likelihood is that we will continue to pursue exactly the same irresponsible programs of relentless domestic growth and offshoring that triggered and are driving our climate crisis, while we continue to treat the symptoms, as our corporate elite feeds off their programs of endlessly expanding destructive growth and expanding consumption.

Reducing the Risks of Climate Change

Keep expanding domestic growth, massive migration, and manufacturing in filthy, slave-labor third world countries? That's what we've been doing under the fake "climate treaties," that the, "corporate environmentalists," have been using to defraud us with: climate accords are doomed to failure, unless we accompany them with breaking the Corporate Growth Machine of Death.
These scientists are absolutely clueless... and mention none of the fundamental changes in policy that's really required to derail global warming and our destruction of our ecosystems.

"Changes in temperature and precipitation can increase air quality risks from wildfire and ground-level ozone (smog). Projected increases in wildfire activity due to climate change would further degrade air quality, resulting in increased health risks and impacts on quality of life."

"Rising air and water temperatures and changes in extreme weather and climate-related events are expected to increase exposure to waterborne and foodborne diseases, affecting food and water safety. The geographic range and distribution of disease-carrying insects and pests are projected to shift as climate changes, which could expose more people in North America to ticks that carry Lyme disease and mosquitoes that transmit viruses such as West Nile, chikungunya, dengue, and Zika."

Support Tahoe to Whitney

The Tahoe to Whitney Trail Guide and Magazine are walked, written, funded, and supported by my efforts, with the help of kindred spirits and my sister.

We offer valuable Trail Guide, Skills, Weather, News and Analysis.

My goal is to get you out to see your natural and social potential. Help me keep this unique resource accessible and expanding towards its potential. We've a lot of miles to cover ahead...

I NEED HELP!
If you feel these efforts are valuable, I'm cordially inviting you to support them, here:

I am currently working towards publishing the completed guide between Tahoe & Yosemite as an e-book, while converting this "blog" to a fine magazine format. You will like the results! Help Tahoe to Whitney reach its potential!
