Butterfly in Jack Main Canyon, Yosemite

Euphydras chalcedona?
Orange Red, White, Checker Wing colors with distinctive Black Trim

Butterfly and bud the size of a tree to the tiny creature.

Observed Friday June 30, 2013

7720 feet of elevation in Jack Main Canyon below Wilmer Lake

Hiking from Wilmer Lake continuing down the magnificant Lower Jack Main Canyon to Hetchy Hetchy when this little guy started me off on the best run across wet Spring trails through endless butterflies of every color, size, shapes, and descriptions.

Euphydryas chalcedona on Doc Shapiro's Site?

I encountered another  further down after hiking through Lower Jack Main Canyon onto Moraine Ridge,

Butterfly on Moraine Ridge, Yosemite.
