What's Really Inside Your Body?
California 1st State to Require Notification of Toxic 'Forever' Chemicals in Water,
Desert Sun, July 31, 2019.
MAIN POINTS
PFAS Reporting
"California's law would mandate that consumers receive information on about 5,000 of them if they're detected."
PFAS
"The PFAS chemicals, which have been widely used in everything from firefighting foam to Teflon pans, rain gear and even some dental floss, have been linked in research to cancers, developmental problems and thyroid and liver disease. They're known as "forever chemicals" because they don't break down in the environment or in human bodies."
SOCAL Contamination
"More than 2.4 million people across Los Angeles, Riverside and Orange Counties may be exposed to the dangerous chemicals, according to estimates by environmental advocates and based on U.S. Environmental Protection Agency data. Major airports, military bases and refineries are all conducting testing or will be, per state requirements. While New Hampshire and New Jersey have imposed limits on two PFAS chemicals..."

Chemicals Secretly Known by 3M to be Very Bad for Health, Distributed Everywhere, Now in Everyone
“Water tests show that 110 million Americans have levels of PFAS in their water that the most cautious scientists call unsafe...”
Bottom Line
This reporting is good news. The bad news is that we already know that PFAS are already widely distributed throughout our population. This reporting law is about thirty years too late, and kind of like locking the barn door after the cow's already escaped...
Nonetheless, this reporting requirement finally points us towards finding and remediation of the sources of this widespread contamination (and to look at your teflon pans), finally leading us in the direction of stopping this particular stream of ongoing contamination, and reducing our future generation's exposure to this dangerous chemical, even if our current generations are already swimming in this stuff.
Our Real Problems
Our real problem is that PFAS are just one of a wide range of dangerous chemicals that have been released into our environment in astronomical volumes in and through consumer products, before responsibly considering the long term costs and consequences of poisioning our planet and people against the, "benefits," of these quick, short term profits sucked-up by the oil and chemical industries being able to avoid proper regulation by, "sponsoring," the parties and politicians.
To fix both these problems, of our environment and politiy being polluted by corruption, this unholy alignment of corporate wealth with political power must be fundamentally broken.
