Backpack the Sierra

BackpacktheSierra is hiked and written by M and P, a married hiking team who's relationship includes the Sierra. We are lucky that they share this deep relationship with us.

These guys crack me up, because they call it like they see it, and like they've seen it. These guys are classic originals, putting up a fine web representation of  an aspect of High Sierra backpacking trail culture. Hell, if I don't meet a solid backpacking couple at least once on every trip, I feel cheated. They have solid information across a wide variety of topics, and their love of the mountains will rub off onto you from their website.

If you are a beginning backpacker looking for easily accesable trips, information on gear,  and hiking emphasing a bottom-line common sense approach, M and P are the people for you.

This is wisdom, cranky sierra backpacker style. Check out their trips, they will stretch your knowledge of the Sierras.

I can't  wait to get my JMT speed hiker encounters up on the guide and forum. Most of the ones I've met are Russkies, and hell 'o nice guys beating the shit out of themselves in heaven.  The others are acid-tongued ass-bites. But I do agree with M & P: Take the time to take in and enjoy the thing you have worked so hard to see. You see, M & P's positions get me going!

If you are an experienced backpacker looking to hike the Sierras, or are just looking for some new routes, or you just want to hear real common sense, Backpacking the Sierra has something for you.

M and P's experiences are complimented by their easy presentation of thei love of the Sierras.
