Tick Defense Strategies

How to Prevent Disease

The Tick-Borne Disease Problem

There’s been a lot of mysterious “post” lyme disease trouble in the lyme disease patient population. Science and medicine had no answers, up to now. It turns out the spiroketes can hide all over the place from the antibiotics, leaving patients better than before, but not rid of the disease.

Prevention is the Only Cure
My solution to all tick borne illness is preventative, to locate the tick before it can sink itself into us, or find and remove it before, A> it has had time to bury its head deeply, and, B> remove it before its pathogen has time to be activated by the heat & nutrition contained in my blood, and infects me.

The Wonder Speed

Moderate coffee drinking 'more likely to benefit health than to harm it' say experts,
BMJ, November 22, 2017.

I have never been a fan of stimulants. I've always figured the natural diurnal cycle of activity and rest was just fine. Living in Berkeley I've observed the sad antics of speed freaks.

But, I've always liked the bitter alkaloids and "soft" stimulant power of coffee. "Speed Kills," but Coffee Thrills!

This coffee research above is "...an umbrella review of 201 studies that had aggregated data from observational research and 17 studies that had aggregated data from clinical trials across all countries and all settings."

It produced "...evidence from over 200 studies and find that drinking three to four cups of coffee a day is associated with a lower risk of death and getting heart disease compared with drinking no coffee. Coffee drinking is also associated with lower risk of some cancers, diabetes, liver disease and dementia."

Risks: pregnancy and slight fracture risk increase in vunerable women.
