Arriving at Saint Marys Pass coming down from Meeks Bay on the Tahoe to Yosemite Route puts our total mileage at just over a hundered miles, 100.76 miles, by my reckoning.
Alternative Route
But you may have done considerably more miles to get down to Highway 108 if the last half of your hike through the Carson-Iceberg Wildernss finished off along the Pacific Crest Trail at Sonora Pass.
My favorite route through the Carson-Iceberg Wilderness cuts up Highland Creek from the end of Spicer Meadow Reservoir to pass by Highland Lakes and Gardiner Meadow on my way to Wolf Creek Pass, where I catch the Southbound Pacific Crest Trail.
The Tally
The end result is reaching the Sonora Pass, one mile East of Saint Marys Pass on Highway 108. This route is 41.92 miles in length, as opposed to Lake Alpine to Saint Marys along the TYT totaling up to 34.64 miles, while Ebbetts Pass to Sonora Pass on the PCT measures in at 29.44 miles.
