Fire & the Retardants Used to Control them

Fire Retardant Use Explodes as Worries About Water, Wildlife Risk Grow,
Water Deeply, November 27, 2017.

This report studies these, "ammonia compounds, which are known toxins to fish and other aquatic life. Studies have shown retardants can kill fish, alter soil chemistry, feed harmful algae blooms and even encourage the spread of invasive plants. Yet there is little regulation of their use, and no safer alternatives on the market."

15.3 million gallons used this year, 2x times the big fire year 2014.

19 million gallons in 2016.

A chemical-poison "shortcut" to save money?
"retardants are being used in place of ground crews"

Another crazy corporate-bribery inspired law that threatens our health when applied to fracking fluids, as well as firefighting powders:

"Other ingredients are exempt from public disclosure under federal law as trade secrets."

No chemical formulation released into nature can be free from a complete and through examination of its potential environmental and health effects. These corporate bribes buy laws that are directly detrimental to our health and safety. All corporate bribery must be completely outlawed.
