Where do Corporations put Liquid Toxics?

They Inject them into The Ground

Modeling the effects of wastewater injection,
California Institute of Technology, December 20, 2017.

You may not know this, but some of the most toxic compounds created in chemical and mechanical manufacturing processes are disposed of by injecting them into the ground. It’s not just fracking wastewater that’s being “re-injected,” but a wide range of liquid industrial wastes are being disposed of in this manner.

I suspect that this problem took off in the 1970s, after the creation of the EPA (Nixon) made dumping these toxics in our rivers and waterways illegal. So they started injecting the worse of industrial toxics into abandoned oil wells, instead of dumping them in our rivers.

My thought is that all manufactured products must “pay their own way,” and disposal of their toxic byproducts not be saddled on the public by disposing of them into the environment, even into the subterranean environment. Everyone knows skeletons never stay buried. My thought is that every industrial & chemical by-product must be neutralized, not hidden, and these costs must be paid on the “front-end,” and not deferred through injection.

Nonetheless, the research above reinterprets the scope of earthquakes triggered by disposing of fracking wastewater by re-injecting it. The scope is wider than believed, as initial quakes tap into, releasing, energy stored on nearby faults not actually “greased-up” by the re-injected fracking wastewater.

We’ve recently seen fracking proven to degrade the health of babies born near fracking operation.

Honestly, I don't trust these people. I don't trust these frackers, the wildcatters or the big producers, I don't trust the local or federal regulators tasked with overseeing them, and I especially don't trust the politicians of both parties, who take vast bribes from all of the above interests to appoint one of them to regulate the rest.
