Despite rain, December tracking to be one of driest on record

Mercury News, December 20, 2017.

Despite our last season’s torrential tropical Winter, this Winter has flipped back into the same drought pattern that’s been increasingly manifesting itself over the last thirty years. Far from it. This year is now shaping-up as did the Winter of 2015, which brought almost no precip at all. The key is going to be the configuration of the North Pac High. Where it goes determines where the precip goes, and if we get any at all, or all of it.
