July 31

The transitions between seasons, their basic character, their timing, temp, and humidity transitions have all changed. The directions from which the seasonal winds blow have changed. These changes are reverberating through and disrupting webs of life that wrap around the whole planet.

Blooming, feeding, mating, and migration patterns of all living things are changing around the world.

Here we track the obvious and the subtle human affects on Nature. The club and the knife, if you will.

July 11

Warm winter events in the Arctic are becoming more frequent, lasting longer,
AMERICAN GEOPHYSICAL UNION, July 11, 2017.

Warmer Arctic linked to weaker vegetation growth in North America,
POHANG UNIVERSITY OF SCIENCE & TECHNOLOGY (POSTECH), July 11, 2017.

This last year the warm Arctic appeared to have profound affects on our weather. The failure of the Arctic to "chill down" removes a profound force affecting wind and storm paths across the North Pacific. This decrease in the Arctic's "chilling power," along with increases in Central and South Pacific heating have shifted the "source" of our Winter weather from the Northwest, traditionally coming across the edge of the Arctic via the Aleutians, to tropical storms coming directly out of the West and Southwest, bringing disasterous results. These changes in the character and timing of our weather are akin to an ongoing, slow-motion train wreck that the vast majority of the passengers on this crazy train of ours are completely unaware of.

The passengers on our train are more interested in obtaining money and sex ("gratifications"), than understanding, let alone preserving any underlaying values and principals that would serve to make and keep money and sex meaningful, if not valuable. Our passengers have confused self-gratification with "meaning," and all of man and nature are suffering as a result. Well, 99 percent of it, anyway.

Ya Think? We Already Know This...

Focus: Are wildfires worsening due to development, climate change and controversial forest management?
San Diego Union Tribune, July 7, 2017.

We have grown far beyond our our country’s first-world carrying capacity. Our state and country are dropping further and further into social, ecological, and economic squalor as our irresponsible growth continues in a declining ecology.

Fire is the favorite handmaiden of change that this type of irresponsible growth ushers in, once the floods clear. Our bad behavior has ushered in an era of rolling climate extremes, rolling from drought to flood to heat wave, and back through the cycle again, and faster each time through.

Fire and Smoke Awarness are fully required for Summer backpacking in our Brave New World.

Crazy Time Normal

Just Keep Growing...

Can the Valley handle more cow deaths in this heat?
Fresno Bee, July 7, 2017.

It's a good thing the definition of "Karma," recognizes all created futures are deserved futures. We only create what our actions bring into being, which brings exactly what we deserve. All that we do is at the same time its own reward and its own resolution. One is transitory.

It is scary when dead cows are the canaries in our coal mine.

Our irresponsible growth long ago crossed the line of "sustainability," and is now struggling with "survivability" as our expanding greed and corruption-driven consumption grows into its own destruction.

We'll be drinking piss and eating bugs before this ends badly

This is the result of our corporate-democrat driven policies of endless growth, AKA The Corporate Growth Machine of Death.  The greedy and corrupt must be removed from positions of power to stop the CGM of D.
